I would love for the developer to bring back the ability to put pictures in thought bubbles. Unfortunately they got rid of this feature.

Makes it easy to create custom comics. Highly recommended!

By far the quickest, easiest way to create a meme. The only feature missing is the ability to watermark your creation.

When you save it adds a thin layer at the bottom I have to crop out everytime.

This app crashes immediately when I click on ballon . I deleted and reinstalled twice..does not work. How do I get refund ?

Dear developer, I have bought this app and used a specific font for years and for some reason its now a premium font and I have to pay again in order to use it. I “lost” the font cos I had to reset my phone. There are no means to reach you for help. I think this is incredibly unfair. *This is to update on my previous review. Support reached out to me and solved my issue. I greatly appreciate the help. Very happy that I can now use the same font again. Grateful and 5 stars.

This is a great app! You can take a photo and add captions to it in so many different ways! It is so much better than other apps where you add text- this app is text on steroids! With the variety of balloon text holders, it looks like you are really saying the words! You can also change the whole look of your photo to different ways to look like a cartoon, painting, colors, emotions, etc. And so many people are cartoon enthusiasts! They get a kick out of it and ask me how I did that! I use this app almost daily- that's how fun and useful it is! Update- I still use this app- daily now! I am a professional Tarot reader and I take a snapshot of the card layout and using this app, I can write the date and any caption I want! Again, it's not boring old text, this app lets you get creative! My clients love it! For professional and personal use- I use this daily!

I used this meme maker for the longest time. Best meme maker ever, TILL I MADE THE MISTAKE OF UPDATING IT. So, I used to use a font that was white with black border, but you removed it and left me with all these wonderful fonts that aren't bordered and won't show up as well... I thought well maybe I need to buy the app. Then I'll get that font back and as a bonus I'll get all the new fonts! Not the flipping case. I am so frigging annoyed with app developers that are blinking and nickle diming we the consumer! IF I BUY AN APP I WANT EVERYTHING. As such you terminated my font and after I went and paid for the app, you want more for the new font sets?! Screw you. Give me a refund and I'll find a better meme maker.

Tools are extremely basic, the menus are infuriating to use, no way to clear selection and create a new picture unless you want to scroll through 4+ different menus. Just awful. Not worth the money.

I used the free app about a year ago, and, although it was a bit limited in application, I was able to get photos with captions. Tried to use today and it had changed completely did not work. So I purchased the $3.99 version - still does not work. I could place a caption on a photo, but could not save the altered photo. Could not copy the photo. Could not access the help function. AND I am sick of seeing that shark with the kitty in it’s mouth. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Just had it for a day and I’ve been going crazy putting comic memes out. Mine are very political and I have been strictly using pictures of weird happenstance, haven’t gotten into all the other features available yet. Fun app, could always have more fancy stuff but I’m not complaining, you will be pleased with this app.

I just paid $3.99 for the paid app because the free one didn’t work on my ipad. Silly me. Now, when I select the text bubble, the app shuts down, and I can’t get my money back!!!

I’m unable to choose the original font that the comic bubbles start with. Once I change a font and then want to go back, none of the available fonts match the original starting font. Also, the image it saves is a reduced resolution. I would expect the image to be the same resolution or at least be able to configure the output size. UPDATE: thank you for the response. When I change fonts the only fonts made available are Biff Bam Boom, Glitter Girl, Glitter Girl Gossip, and High Jinkies. The Hush font is missing.

So many caption apps (and I’ve downloaded plenty) turn something simple into something incredibly frustrating. Not this one. It’s wonderfully direct and no-nonsense. And fun!

Good for some quick one-offs/single basic panel but I woulda liked more so therefore undercooked: Pros: *Easy to use *Relatively inexpensive Cons: *Only allows one user image per panel *Doesn‘t allow user to create stickers. *Doesn‘t allow precision in Text alignment--itza trial & mistake thing from Go to Finish. *Won't allow me to create/add fonts. *Won't allow me to choose precise font size. *Limited control of speech bubbles-- resizing, shape. Wanted: Repairs to the above and text that can wrap around.

I just retired after 43 years of our record shop due to health. I starting cartooning again something I did in the 80’s. Bought an iPad decided to change with the times. I think this is great. I’ve used it to make comics but also to edit photos in a way. I just recently put tightest some pings using the custom sticker mode and it looks great. I would recommend.

Great app. If they wouldn’t make the panel sizes so awkward, it would be perfect. Even just a square 4x4 IG ready panel would be awesome. Still fun, tho!

It’s awesome when you can download and app and in a couple minutes do the “simple” thing you had in mind when you downloaded it. This app is fun and easy to use.

I use the app to caption photos for a humor account on Instagram. I find it easy to use but wish it allowed cutting and pasting text into the captions.

Hey I really like the app it has so many awesome features but I wish there was a way to reshape the text bubble manually like extending one side of the bubble a little more or straightening out a side while rounding in the other being able to mold the text bubble into any shape you want would be so great.Also adding the ability to Copy and past text and switch images so that you don’t have to rewrite the same thing over again for another pic would awesome too.

(Update: This is a great app from a great developer!) Photogene is apparently abandoned so I search App Store and the top hit for cartoon bubbles is your app. I buy the Pro version for $4 and try to add a caption bubble to a square 1:1 image I loaded. Can’t get past the cropping stage because your app insists I crop my image to a portrait aspect ratio? Are you kidding me? I play with the counter-intuitive Panning, Scaling and Rotating checkboxes. Nothing helps. I look through the FAQ and search for developer tech support. End up having to install Facebook Messenger in the hopes of getting the advertised “few hours” turnaround for replies. Give up when I can’t find my old FB account password. As more of the public starts dumping FB you should consider upgrading to a real website. What’s interesting is that the instructions feature a drawing of a square panel but I can’t seem to make the app work with a square panel. Am I doing something wrong? Please tell me I am. I will change this review to an exegesis of how bad I am at app interfaces if you’ll only tell me how to put a cartoon bubble on a 1:1 image. I don’t need 50 fonts or 10 colors. I’d be happy with just one of each. Update: Yes sir, Matt, you fixed it! Thank you so much! I haven’t played with it extensively yet because I’m here to fix my poor review ASAP. I contacted the developer the day I bought the app and was unable to make it work as I wanted it to. He replied quickly with a request to demonstrate the problem. I don’t have any iOS screen recording apps so I was going to make a video with my daughter’s phone. Have you ever tried to borrow a teenaged girl’s phone? There’s never a good time for that so it hadn’t happened yet. And now with the issue fixed there’s no need. I wish more developers here were as quick to respond and (I’m still amazed) actually fix the problem even! Future feature requests: 1) Allow in-place font swapping with previews. I’m unable to select typed text and preview different fonts in an already created and placed caption bubble. I have to delete the text and then switch the font and retype it. Am I making a mistake? 2) More control over line-breaks and bubble sizes 3) This relates to 2), but the thought-bubble trail of bubbles needs much more control for differently sized and laid-out graphics. Number, size and spacing are critical to making the trail of bubbles appear properly from the correct person’s head. 4) Multiple tails (graphic attributions) and bubble-trails should be possible for two or more characters saying or thinking the same thing at the same time. Even without these possible improvements I’m very happy with this app
